Done after this. We are a 501c3 organization. All the money goes back to the fishermen so why are you upset with the membership fee. We usually pay $60000 out in classic. Best payout around and still get crap. We have to do these things to make a good payout and classic, but seriously don't want to keep going back in forth this is dumb. Get what you need to get out about cba and just move on. That cool?

Participation of the CBA is down because of the fact that it is the absolute hammers of Chickamauga Lake! Point blank! Everyone that doesn't fish them are not confident enough in their abilities to compete. If you fish against the best you have a chance to become the best. This is the best of the best tournament trail for this area and the people that won't fish it are just flat out unconfident in their abilities and don't wanna (donate) because it's a waste of money for them. Make all the excuses you want but deep down everyone knows that what I just stated is the fact.

no doubt the guys can catch em! we fish and live on an AWESOME fishery that produces GIANT sacks of fish and im sure that intimidates some but tournament fishing as whole is GROWING. so if a trail is in decline its not likely due to the level of competition.

I would like to see the polygraphs being given more often, especially the night tournaments. There are always a few new people that show up to fish them and the tests deter possible shady people. I think most of us that fish would be ok with dropping a few paid places to pay for the tests a couple times a year.

I agree with this. Guys just wanting to get started don't want to come out to fish a trail known for bringing 30 and sometimes 40lb sacks to the scales when they can go fish the smaller dogfights for smaller entry and the possibility of winning with 18lbs.
You've also got guys that can't compete with the existing dogfight crews so they start their own. That's part of the reason there's 100 different tournaments going on instead of just a handful with bigger crowds. Less competition is a better chance to win

I really like fishing the CBA's. It's made me a better fisherman competing against those guys and I think they're run well. Are there things that could be done better/differently? Sure, but I've got no real complaints If I wasn't out of state working most weeks I'd love to help the guys out to take some load of their backs but I don't have the time to do it.

WELL SAID!!! Could not have said it better. Come on guys! Let's move on from this please. I liked both too. Both had their perks. I appreciated all the guys who put on tournaments. They could be a pain in the rear putting them on and I loved it when I did not have to and someone else had the pain. Now that I am older and losing my hearing it is great to see younger guys like Brent, Aj and Patrick stepping up and carrying the load. No tournament is perfect, the thing you guys have going for you there is you have so many types to choose from. Clubs, CBA, CFF, CATCH, Dog Fights, and the list just keeps on going, Find one or two that fits you and that you like. Count your blessings. Jmax

You nailed it jb. "We can't compete with those guys. Let's start our own club" is the voice of hundreds.

Tournament fishing has ignited completely no doubt and with the numbers of tournaments and dogfights this day in time people can pick and choose. In picking and choosing they will avoid the hammers! Derek I'm in agreement with polygraph coming back.

No matter what ruler or board a tournament uses if I remember right cba and most other clubs have a courtesy board so you can check it before btinging a short fish to scales. Now this is first year back fishing cba in several years so I'm not exactly sure about this but I know In frost bite tournaments we would rather give you a board to courtesy measure a fish for yourself than have to disqualify someone because that ultimately becomes a know win situation for everyone involved.

I was the president when we had those boards cut. We did that because in the past we had guys with short fish offer to get their ruler that showed that particular fish to be legal. But then it was discovered their thin golden rule was bent. So we had boards cut to exact dimensions that were thick enough they could never bend.

If someone got salty with you because you came up early with your fish. You shouldn't take it personal. For years we have tried to lead the way in after weigh-in fish care and release. We usually announce not to bring your fish till they are ready because the fish dont do well in the bags.

I work 50 to 60 hours a week and did not get to fish at all last week before the tx but I fish everyone I can because I enjoy the level of competition. I can't afford to be a pro wanna be and chase major trails around the country but I can fish against the best of the best on this lake month in and out for $120.

It's a great trail, one of the oldest running in the country as matter of fact. Participation has been consistent through out the year and anyone around here knows that the numbers drop once we get to the day/night split months.

It’s so hard to keep everyone happy and after 6 tournaments this season you would think everyone be on board with rules and protocol when it comes to weigh in . The reason we tell everyone to hold there fish is to hopefully preserve the fish in a live well instead of a bag . But some folks struggle with this rule . Dead fish is the number 1 reason for public to complain about tournaments. We do everything we can to keep this to a minimum.

CFF should be renamed Desperate Housewives of Chickamauga

...just wondering? How many CFF's have you dished Stick? I don't recall seeing your name in the standings.

I fished the CBA for over twenty years and enjoyed the hell out of it. I have fished the CFF since its conception love it also. Most people do not realize it but the reason we have the Florida strain of largemouth bass in our lake, is largely because of the CBA and its past officers; personally I would like to thank all the guys who give the time and effort to put both of these two tournament circuits on. If you do not like them, stay home.
