Then he actually said that he wished that they would shut the lake down during their events. I thought to myself c'mon Edwin. thats crazy talk right there. Just deal with it dude. We do - year round.

I agree that is crazy talk...I probably have a narrow minded and biased view since I still work and most of my fishing is on weekends but I always thought that the guy that plans his entire year for a weeks vacation on a lake with his wife, or child, or dad should be given some consideration as you would think the pros being pros would have more than enough waypoints or spots or other areas to fish. Somewhat the same for tournament anglers as well and perhaps if I were on the other side of the fence I would see that different but I have always given the people I suspect to be on a family trip or vacation trip a wide berth

Edwin Evers was aggravated at a couple local boats being in the same area as him. he is going to really be aggravated come this weekend lol....

I am a fan of the sport as much as the next guy, but the arrogance of some of these guys regarding local anglers is off-putting to me. If you don't like fishing in a crowd don't show up to Chickamauga during the spring. I mean do they really expect for us all to stay at home because they decided to show up at our lake. I work for a living and can only afford to fish maybe 75 days a year, just because you show up to my lake in primetime doesn't mean I am just gonna take a weekend off. Hell Edwin is fishing in CFP, maybe the busiest place on the lake. If you fish there, you best plan on sharing the water with another boat 95% of the time. That is just part of the game here. We all have to deal with it on during local tournaments, you just have to factor it into your strategy. If you plan on fishing obvious stuff, better get there early and don't plan on leaving if you want to fish it again later in the day.

Now that being said, I am obviously not gonna watch the live stream all week, and show up Saturday morning where somebody has been fishing all week. But I do plan on going fishing. If it happens to be where some pro wants to fish and is cordial, I would be more than happy to let them fish alongside me or even yield the area to him. But don't expect me to just bend over and take it from you because you have a wrap on your boat.

I agree with all that. I'm a fan too and have enjoyed keeping up with it throughout the week, especially since its on our lake.

But it was funny, on day 1 when he was commenting on the boats around him, the camera showed 1 of them and it didn't look that close at all, especially for the back of CFP - couple hundred yards off. Then he actually said that he wished that they would shut the lake down during their events. I thought to myself c'mon Edwin. thats crazy talk right there. Just deal with it dude. We do - year round.

Imagine being on fish in Chester Frost and expecting that you will have the area all to yourself for a tourney on a Saturday in April lol. I'd love to be able to fish anywhere I wanted on the lake during a tournament too, but that ain't how it works, especially on this pond. If they don't like fishing in a crowd, should have held the damn thing on Parksville or Nickajack.

How many boats are fishing the chick on any given Saturday in the Spring? Gotta be close to in the thousands right? Think about the ego it takes to believe that your tournament is so important that 1000s of people should just sit at home so you can have the run of the place. And spare me the BS about fishing for a living. You made that decision, not me. Doesn't matter if your fishing for $100k or just trying to catch a mess of crappie for dinner, everyone deserves equal access and opportunity to fish public water.

I had several of them set right down on me yesterday-Evers was one of them. He didn't appear to be aggravated but probably unhappy when he couldn't get in on the pocket I was anchored in and saw me boat one, lol. He's been camped out in DB for most of the event but this was up river on his way in.

A lot of these pro's are sporting about local competition but many of them spend too much time in the mirror with an air hose in their ear, lol. Fame can be very inflating. They also have their reputation and career at stake so sportsmanship is paramount in which most of them keep their cool. I have seen and heard that EE can get quite testy- even with the boat officials. Most of them that I have spoken with are quite cool and don't let ego control their actions.

Agreed, Silvertalon, most pros are grateful to get to fish for a living and are conscious that other fishermen are why they have their jobs. It’s mostly bass fishermen who watch pro bass fishing.
