Are there any thoughts on a 52" trolling motor? Is it too long? I think i can get a deal on a near new fortrex 112 but i haven't had one this long before.

I've got a 52" and a couple of 45" I like the longer tm in the summer/ off shore season

^^^^I went with a 52" too for more bite in the wind / waves fishing offshore^^^^
I just raise it up 8" to 10" when i go shallow like right now in the grass season. I was worried that when i have it raised up it would be an issue with sidearm casts but really no big deal.

The taller head on a long shaft gets in the way of my rods. Especially on a hook set. I've lost fish that way. IMO.
