Here are the new updated standings.  McBride/McCormick defaulted 20 points in CFF #11 because it was my idea.

Patrick, I don’t understand the points over 100 credited to some in CFF #11 like 114, 117, etc. The rules say that first place is good for 100 points and that would be the maximum except for 1 point added for big fish. ?????

Pete, they all were given 20 points for participation at the rained out Tx. So if you were 8th and to receive 92 points from the make up Tx. you actually got 112.

What Earl said.  Because we kept everybody around for CFF #11 for as long as we did, and the fact that some people needed that tournament but could not fish the makeup tournament to qualify for the classic, we awarded everyone that signed up and signed in 20 points for the original CFF #11.  That is where the 20 points come in for some.  We have never cancelled/postponed a tournament so this was the first time we have ever dealt with it.  Next year, we will place concrete contingency plans in the rules.

Earl and Patrick, thanks for the explanations, I understand. However, the crying is not over LOL. Please don’t take this the wrong way,but there is a fairness issue with the 20 points. There are 2 people who were adversely affected by the 20 point issue - Pete Jr. And Earl. Why? Because their cff#11 scores were thrown out because they were one of the 2 lowest scores even with the 20 points added. Everybody else got the benefit of the 20 points.
If the 20 points had not been added, Pete Jr. And Team Patrick/Dusty would have switched places. Earl’s place would have stayed the same.

Not to confuse things here, lol, but isn't there a CFF 13 on the 29th? And, why couldn't that have been the make-up tx? So is it just going to be a money run tx with no points??
Posted by elwestb

Pete, that is just the way the math works! It is what it is! Glen, the 13th Tx. still counts as points for the year.

Nauticman - 9/10/2018 6:41 PM Earl and Patrick, thanks for the explanations, I understand. However, the crying is not over LOL. Wow.  I really don't care.  If it makes someone happy I will gladly default those 20 points, and it now shows in the standings.  I am sure Dusty don't care.  AOY has been long decided, and there is no prize for anything else.  Tell me what the fairness issue is?  We had people showed up to fish a tournament, hung around for an hour and a half, then were told we were not having it. We had a few who needed that tournament to qualify for the classic so we decided there to award it as a tournament fished for those who needed it to qualify and could not make the next one and give everyone 20 points just like you receive when you show up and catch no fish. I think they though it was more than fair. Tell you what, we could go change it, and then we will have at least two who will not qualify for the classic, and your son will jump one spot in the standings.  The truth is Earl's place was not affected and Earl is probably like me, if you don't win the prize, what does it matter?

BTW, If several of you want to be on the tournament committee next year a few of us will be glad to step aside and let someone else do it.  People complain we fish too many night tournaments.  People complain we fish too many day tournaments.  We fish too long.  We don't fish long enough.  We don't cancel a tournament over a rain drop.  We wait too long to cancel a tournament one time.  We don't fish where you want to.  We have too many drops.  We don't have enough drops.  We fish the same weekend as the tom, dick, and hairy bass club. So and so sucked until he started following us around and now he seems to be in all my fishing holes.  So and so blasted off too soon.  So and so got in late.  On and on.    And we deal with it.  For nothing.  In the words of my wife..."It is like a bunch of women".

I discovered Saturday after sulking due to a trailer flat and a dying battery that in the span of a few hours early afternoon my wife lost a dear student in a car wreck and a fellow parapro of hers lost her husband in an electrical accident.

This does not mean that much to me anymore in the big picture.

Patrick, the committee has done well...Not to concern yourself over minor issues of displeased complaints, If you gave out burgers & fries each tournament, some one would gripe. I have been on other committees and was same, everyone was never always pleased & it was not the same person all the time, some complained more and probably do at other events they attend.

We made the schedule, defined the rules, managed the entries & payouts, worked for the giveaways from limited sponsors...some collected, some did not, most were happy some were not....all this to say, if someone does not like the schedule, rules, etc., its same as employment....they need to find somewhere else to participate or form & run their own tournament.....just my opinion....some will not like my thoughts.

Current committee is doing well in MY OPINION, thanks.............

Look, he wasn’t complaining. We were just curious how the system worked. I could give a hang about the damn points. Like you said AOY is a done deal. Besides we are just doing this for fun.

Apologies for asking the questions.

We think the committee does a hell of a job and mention it in every post. Not just BS-ing.

we are not “unhappy” as previously posted. I wouldn’t come out if that were the case.

Hope to see everyone at the next one.

Patrick, glad I gave you an opportunity to vent. I did not ask that any changes be made, I merely made an observation with an LOL.
I know the committee has a very tough job and I have complimented them many times on the CFF and will continue to do so.

Hey I'd just blame Jmax for everything!! Jim, You should try and make some of the TX's next year. It's not that far from Arkansas and you already know the patterns. What else you got to do? Be retired?? hahaha
