This very familiar passage shuts down those who would work themselves to heaven, good works are a natural result of being born again! Verse 10 is not as often quoted but it reminds us that we are God's workmanship. Often our problems stem from our attempts to work on ourselves. This passage was part of my morning devotion this morning. A key point that really struck me was how our relationship with God is to be with or heart and not our intellect. Faith is faith, it isn't logical, it is based on the unseen, it isn't something that can be calculated or quantified.
