It will be cheap on fuel to say the least...

the big question will be livewells, do you have a means to keep the fish alive once you catch them?

I don't know about everybody else but my first several boats were aluminum flat bottom and v bottom boats and I had as much fun in them as any boat I've ever owned, I didn't fish tournaments then but I would not have hesitated to fish out of any of them. I grew up right beside Pine Harbor Marina now Steve's Landing and I use to rent aluminum boats from them when I was kid & to young to own one myself and I had a blast running around Soddy Creek in them. I'm getting old that was 50 years ago emoGeezer

A large cooler and recirc pump will work. Have to throw this in- I'll never forget the 1st tx I ever fished in a BASS chapter club when I was about 18. - Had a 13' v-hull aluminum with a 20 hp johnson and an old Rebel trolling mtr. I had 1 or 2 rods and a 2 tray tackle box! My livewell was a plain 12 qt styrofoam cooler. I caught 1 bass and kept it alive in there for weigh-in, lol. I think it was my 1st or 2nd time out in a boat and got sea sick too! What kids will do!

It would be awesome if you placed with the minimum hardware compared to the big fancies (No offense to the fancies)

You definitely need to get involved in the CFF tournaments next spring. Great bunch and you'll meet some great guys & learn alot! Great place to start!

One warning about this though^^^^^^^ When they put in below the dam and the current is rolling you might get swept away. But all the other TX's should be fine. Also the 25 dollar dogfights through the week next year would be easy to do and the frostbite if you like cold weather fishing
