Hey guys somehow the cord to=hat runs to the transducer has be cut in half I think by the trolling motor frame. It looks as if there are just 8 copper wires. Do you think it would work to solder these wires back together and it function properly? These thing are expensive...

Should be possible.After making all the individual conductor connections, use weather proof shrink over entire splice.

I wanna think that I read that probably won't work very well. Reason being the individual wires are insulated to some degree inside the main casing. Don't quote me on that though.

I would hope any one would know to insulate each individual conductor after soldering. The main thing is to keep moisture out of the joint.
