I recently bought a humminbird to go on my 14ft flatbottom. I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions on where to place the transducer. I normally fish near the back since I haven't built anything to mount my trolling motor on up front. It has an 18hp on the back too. Any advice would be appreciated!

Simply mount the transducer to the transom. Use a straight edge and make sure the head is below pad and use silicone or something like that to seal the screws.

Yes below the boat. If I were you I would use a straight edge and place the bottom of the transducer flush or even with the lowest point on the bottom of the boat. If you mount it lower than the bottom of your boat it will spray water up into the air when the boat is moving. Not to mention you can knock it off when you run over something floating or if you are running in shallow water. Hope this makes sense.
