Come on guys! Where are the Guntersville reports?

I know the Chick really was a struggle for most everyone this weekend but the G turned on pretty good. They had a Big Fish Hourly tournament there this weekend for two days. I heard there was something like 600 boats fishing it. I know Derek won $800 bucks and heard that Hayden won a $500 hour. At least give us a little of a report from you guys who fished it so we can see someone caught some fish this weekend. Who caught what and what was the size? emoWorthy Jmax

fished a small club tournament only had 1 to show for it 11.55 won with 4 fish. they fished a frog all day long.

It was greg lamb, not Hayden. We were lucky enough to weigh in 4 good fish. We caught all ours on a frog out of one area. Was a fun tournament,

Here is my report, but not as good reading as Derek81.....lol. We caught two fish each day, nothing over 3.5 lbs so no reason to make a run to the weigh site. Pretty tough fishing for us. Fished from Goosepond down to Siebold.......backwater, riverchannel, etc. We threw a frog about 50% of the weekend. In hindsight, maybe should have throw in more but never really found any active mats prior to the tournament. Did find a couple late in the day on Sunday. Partner caught a 6.5 on a spinnerbait out of Siebold on Friday......a day early, a dollar short! 4th year of fishing Oakley, it is a fun tournament and well run.

Why would anyone that fishes competitively put a full report on a public forum????

My time there sucked. 2 days & nothing over 3lbs & no more than 3 fish a day with 2 of us in the boat. emoScratch We found the boats in Mill Creek emoEek , musta scared all the fish away. Counted 26 @ 1 time without knowing how many on back side as they kept coming out & more coming in..

Wind between 10-20 mph , cold front, high pressure, bluebird sky, lots o mats washed out, blowups with no hookups (no commit) just swatting at lure. Not much more to say as we left with tail dragging ..... emoGeezer emoUSA

I don't think saying I caught such and such on a frog and won $XXX dollars would be giving away any secrets. emoBigsmile Jmax

fished three days shallow deep and in between, Caught one fish with about 20 minutes left on Sunday afternoon. Partner had three Sunday biggest 2 1/2. Crankbaits and jigs. Had one on Saturday that felt good, came off about half way to the boat in about 20 feet of water. Had one bite the tail off a swimbait. Was frustrating but enjoyed just being out on the water.

I fished in the oakley as well, boated 3 fish both days, nothing to brag about. My biggest was about 3.5 lbs and it was a mud cat caught on a crank bait. I fished mats, bridges, and lay down with mats around them, biggest problem for me was find and empty hole to put my boat in so I could fish....
