Veritas rods

What are the thoughts on these rods?

My daughter broke her spinning rod Saturday and I would like to have a heavy action rod for pitching and umbrella rigs. I probably will not use it a ton so I don't want to spend a fortune.

Pro lures has these two for $160.00. Looks like a good price.

Decent rod? I see Ike uses these ... Must be pretty good if he is betting his income on them.

Love these rods. That is a good deal. I think I paid 79 on ebay and had free shipping and no tax. So as long as you don't have to pay shipping that is just as good. They have a great warranty. 10 bucks and they send you a new rod and you keep the old one no matter what is wrong with it.

Every one I've owned has lost at leastone of it's ceramic inserts in the eyes.. They're light and sensitive but I will not buy another.

But even if the guide insert falls out in the three year warranty I'm sure they will send you a new rod. I didn't have a receipt b/c I had gotten it for C-mas. All that was wrong with it was the guide on the tip was broken but the rod was okay. They shipped me a new one for $9.95 and I kept the old one and put a new guide on the tip. I was pretty happy with that deal.

They're good rods other than guides tearing up or popping out of socket after some use.

Also Phil at pro lures would swap them out for $20 bucks if you broke one but not sure now if they are discontinuing them. He may do the same for the 2.0 just have to ask. Great guy he is.

Ya...I like Phil... I go in there at least once a week to buy something and shot the bull.. He has made some really good deals on rods, reels and everything else.. He will meet or beat any price..

On Glenwood avenue near the old overhead bridge in Dalton. Nothing really close but the Creamo resturant.

What if I have an old Veritas I bought off the forum and i recently found out the ceramic insert in the tip is cracked and its fraying my line. Would Pro Lures swap it out for me or am I going to have to repair the tip myself? All it needs is a new ceramic insert but the rod seems pretty old. Ive had it like 8 months and the previous owner had it for a couple seasons before me i think. So i dont have any warranty info for it.

Good question... Phil would have to answer that. I know he bends over backwards for his regular customers...

Ive got one I bought about three years ago from Big Daddys, I threw it maybe a total of 50 times and the dam thing broke in mid cast of a rat, I checked with Big Daddy's and they dont carry them anymore. The told me I would have to go to abu for any warranty, I read they only have a three year warranty so ive never tried any further, Just figured I was out 120.00 bucks and a nearly new broke rod. I liked it till it broke.
