Just thinking ahead

Forum is slow so I thought I would spark a little conversation....

Looking toward next season... I am thinking about fishing in some sort of club tournament series. Just for the fun of it... I am not very good at bass fishing so CBA is out of my league. I would at least like to have a fighting chance at a decent finish. I don't have a speed boat... I have a solid Ranger 188 with a 150 so I cant race to the holes with the big boys if that matters.... probably doesn't in my case.

I have noticed there are a lot of different clubs... and probably more than I have even heard of yet. I have had a couple of them invite me to join through PMs... that was nice but I don't know where I might fit in. I don't want to fish a tournament every weekend and I don't care anything about a marathon 8 or 12 hour tourney...

I would prefer one that has events at Chick most of the time but goes to other nearby lakes every so often.

Who would suggest a well run tournament series / club that has some nice guys to fish with / against?

You sound like a good prospect, candidate for the 2015 CFF trail to me! Usually one Tx. monthly with a low entry fee. Chickamauga, and Nickajack only. I'm not real sure about the nice guys though? Just kidd'in! It's all in fun. There are also several local clubs that you could join. I'm sure that there will be several other replies.

Actually I had planned on doing the CFF thing as well.... when I can. Not so sure about those night tourneys though.. In the early spring I have to travel a fair amount so I would miss a few for sure.

You should really check out the Southern 175 Series. I've had a blast fishing them and plan on doing so next year as well.

This is my 5th year in Hixson Memorial Bass Club. Great bunch of guys and would not imagine joining another club. Low pay out, but usually nice wall hardware because we're about the fun kind of competition. Mostly Chick, but we throw in a couple Big G's and a Tim's or something and a couple Nick's and a Riverpark. We could always use another boater!
