As some of you know I am Yankee from N WI and still have my house in Phillips, WI which is 10 minutes from the St Croix rod factory. I usually get up here about once a month or so. Spend a lot of time at the retail factory store. Retail prices on new rods is the same there as you would pay at a bait shop or fishing store anywhere. BUT they also have B and C stock rods, only available at the factory. B stock are brand new rods that have a small blemish somewhere, usually unnoticeable and not affecting the action of the rod. Can get these at a great savings and they carry a 1 year factory warranty. C stock rods are rods that were received to have work done, usually a broken tip, cork, etc..these have no warranty but are either 30 or 50 dollars. The factory goes over the rod and if still has the legendary action they fix and mark C stock. The C stock bin also has B stock rods, with warranty, Some C stock are used in great condition, some are brand new. Having kids and friends fish I also used C stock rods so not too upset when they step on them, slam in door, etc..
Regardless, these rods are all make with St Croix blanks which I think are some of the best out there.

I go there anyway and then come back to Ooltewah so doesn't cost me anything. The stock varies day to day, always a lot of Mojo bass and Avid rods which are usually 30 bucks, Legends, etc..might run 50. if anyone is ever interested get ahold of me. I am up here now and will come back Tuesday. Will go to the shop at some point this weekend. Also if you need warranty work done many times I can drop it off when I get in town and its done in a couple days.
