Drop shot rod

What size rod do yall prefer when using a drop shot? I know for most a spinning rod would be preferred but I'm not sure wether or not a 6'9" medium light or a 7' Medium would be better. What do yall like to use?

I do a lot of drop-shotting on lake Lanier. For me I use a 6'10 ML. I have two different DS rods that I use in different places. If I am in open water I pick up the one with the softer tip on it how ever when I move shallower or know that I am going to be pulling a fish out of a brush pile I grab the one with a slightly slower taper and over all stiffer tip.

G-loomus DS 823 i believe is my open water
St. Croix Legend Extream 6'10 ML is my shallow / pull them out of a brush pile rod.

Either length rod would be fine. You just want something with a fast/limp tip, that way you can work the bait more effectively. When drop shotting, I look for a rod with a tip like that, but with decent backbone for hook sets.

Most of the difference in length between 6'9" and 7' is in the butt length. The effective length of the rod (ie from reel stem to tip) is usually really close in length.
