I have met Ernie Polk before...nice dude and they catch some monster sharks off Navarre. Big ole mako...and I was just kayaking there last week.

Hard to believe a big Mako that close to shore. How do you even fight something that powerful from shore. Couldn't read the article. Makes you set up login or something.

Makos are following the cobia migration right now. There have been about 7-10 caught in the last 2 weeks...and many more seen right up on the bar. Giant hammers will begin in about another.month.
They catch them on 14/0 and 16/0 reels. Baits are kayaked out 300+ yards and fought from the beach.

Who gets chosen to kayak the bait? The FNG? I don't want to be the bobber on top of the bait.....

It was the law of the sea they said, civilization ends at the waterline.
Beyond that,we enter the food chain, but not always at the top. (Something like that)

They tried to tag and release the shark but it was exhausted and would not swim. So they took it and filleted it up. Imagine the freezer it took for that beast
