(50.142.153.97) | Need to check your regulations. I think that TWRA in their infinant wisdom has banned hog hunting! The reasoning was if there is no hog hunting then no one would be trapping and moving them to other places to hunt. Somehow this does not make sense to me, especially if they are trying to control the population. DUH. |

If your a landowner, your ok to hunt, but other than that, your out of luck now. -----

Location: cleveland tn. (68.185.131.198) | all you have to do is find a land owner that has hogs and he needs to call and get a permit and the owners family and 10 guest are aloud to hunt there. i think you have to renew it once a year and you can hunt day/night and you can bait. |

Location: Chattanooga, TN (74.221.189.82) | I am totally confused after reading the regs. I know where Hogs are in big numbers and the land owner allows me to hunt them. The regs say NOTHING saying yes or no. Does it say they are fair game since they are no longer Non-big game? ----- "We are in desperate need of New Drivers for the Original Software Operating System we call the Constitution." |

Location: Ooltewah (174.237.34.35) | You can catch and kill hogs year round in tn. But you have to have the landowner obtain the permit for you. Hog hunting without this permit is not permitted unless its a wma hunt that specifies hog hunting durring quota hints. Hogs ruin the deer hunting.
Spur, i will pm the number to you. Its a pitbull hunt |

Location: Cleveland, TN (71.88.173.49) | My suggestion for hog hunting regulations would be to get the latest booklet on hunting regulations. Any further questions would be best addressed by calling your regional TWRA office or the main office in Nashville. |

Eliminate Hog Hunting
Special provisions have been implemented for landowners and their designees to control wild hogs on their lands.
"However, sport hunting of wild hogs is legal on only specific wildlife management areas as a part of a control program for those WMAs."
While the TWRA obviously supports hunting, data indicates that sport hunting for wild hogs only adds to the incentive to create new and expanding populations. Similar to the provisions used by many landowners, the TWRA will begin intensive control measures on WMAs by trapping, which has been shown to be a much more efficient reduction method. -----

Can I hunt free-ranging wild hogs in Tennessee?
No. However, under exemptions, landowners and their designees as defined above may kill a hog at any time. There are also some East Tennessee and Cumberland Plateau WMAs that allow the incidental take of hogs during other big game seasons (see WMA regulations for details.)
Why did the Agency eliminate wild hog hunting if it results in more dead hogs?
Not only have historic hunting seasons proven to be ineffective at controlling hog populations but they have inadvertently led to the increased spread of the wild hog range illegal transport and release of wild hogs into new areas has played a significant role in the spread of wild hogs statewide. Removing the incentive to hunt hogs will hopefully slow their spread across the state. -----
