Location: south pittsburg,tn (98.68.147.240) | I need to get a new rod for football jigs.I would like to keep the price around $100.I have been looking at the skeet reese football jig rod,has anyone tried one of these rods out or know of a better rod in this price range.I have also been looking at the Powell endurance 6'9" Heavy action, model 694-cf,rod.Would this rod make a good rod for football jigs or is the heavy action to stiff for long cast. -----

Location: Ooltewah (64.18.111.147) | Check out the Temple Fork rods on Tacklewarehouse. Davo uses them and he really likes them. They have some that are 99 bucks shipped. They have a 7'6" medium/ heavy and heavy . I'd imagine either would be good for football jigs. |

Location: Ooltewah (68.169.154.129) | I use a Castaway 7'6'' MH Skeleton Series for my fb jigs. You will want a rod over 7' with plenty of back bone. Most flipping sticks should work. |

Location: Friendsville, TN (68.54.237.166) | I have started throwing big FH 1 oz or bigger on an All-Pro 8' swimbait rod. Nice feel and a ton of backbone ,especially when the fish picks it up at the end of the cast. One thing I have noticed is the swimbait rod has a slower tip so you have a little more time for a better hook up.

Location: coalmont tn (204.116.221.67) | Id say do some trials with differnt rods you have to get a better idea of what fits you, i use a 7ft medium heavy but i always use 15pd flouro on half and 20pd on the bigger fb heads, but thats what i feel good with and i throw them nearly year round. |

Just get a long Cue stick, do a Tennessee handle & tape your reel to it...dual purpose, eyes not a problem when shooting pool .......... |
