My grandpa the other day was telling me about going fishing back in the creeks of sand mountain after me showing him my new reel. He thought it was crazy how i had species and bait specific rods and reels. Claiming his old zebco combo was all he needed to put fish on the table. haha it sounds like my parents they kill me not understanding my addiction to bass, and the reasons i spend soo much money on new rods and reels, when i already have 5! So here's my question if you had to have one rod and reel combo what would it be? mine would probly be my 7'0" veritas MH and my 5.4.1 lew's speed spool reel. It'd be strange if we could only carry one rod and reel combo on our boat... So what would yours be?

Ditto. Bait casters are good for one thing, bass fishing.

Mine would have to be a 7' medium rod and an open face. My grandpa is always sayin all you need is 2 good open faces when i got ALOT of baitcasters and 3 open faces. And also when he sees my tackle he says all you need is a few baits in a zip lock baggy. He also thinks a 50 horse motor on a boat will fly. HAHA If only he knew how a 250 will run.

HAHA i agree man, dad thinks minnows are prime bait and a couple pumpkin colored worms do the trick! If only he knew how specific baits truely are!

How many years would you have to fish to catch as many as him - even when he only used one combo and two types of bait?

Hey....stop.. us old guys. I have a lot of bait-casters that collect a lot of dust. Old ones, I might add. I have a few of them fancy ones too. . As for 50hp flying....shucks, plenty fast enough for me. Me and grandpa.....well, we'll just drive on by you, sitting there at the gas station, filling that BIG tank...and emptying your wallet!
