Location: Harrison, TN | Yesterday was so nice & I hadn't had the fly rod out in a while. Had to head over to Cleveland till 10:30 so had my waders packed & headed east to NC. Wanted to get some bites, so decided on a DH stream. Got on the water about 12:30 & fished til 5:30. Had a blast. Just a few fish rising, so threw prince nymph & green weenie & they loved em both.Lots of stocked brookies now, but also caught a number of wild rainbows & 3 native browns. Caught & released between 40-50 trout. Lots of dumb stockers in there, but I need some dumb fish sometimes!!

Good Day! What do you mean by a DH stream?
Should have explained that. That is a Delayed Harvest stream. From Oct. 1 to June the stream is single hook artificial, catch & release only. From June to Oct. is is regular regulations where you can keep trout. They stock it well in the fall & spring & the fish have time to spread out & adapt to a stream environment before people begin to harvest them. Unfortunately, there is a big problem with people poaching these DH streams soon after they stock. Last season I ran into a guy from SC in Nov. carrying a stringer full of trout. I asked him if he knew at that time, it was catch & release only. He flipped me off, I called the NC poacher line on my license. They called me about 2 hrs. later to tell me they had apprehended him! | |

| TR2Obh,
That's great. The poachers over there are out of control. They can really wipe out some of the smaller streams there. I have reported some incidents as well. I have not been into WNC yet this year, but it's coming. May try a TN. tailwater tommorrow.
