Probably not. These are surplus Polish police/military pistols from the mid 70's and are C&R eligible to holders of an 03 FFL. Finish wear varies but the pistols are in very good condition otherwise.
A neat feature is the loaded chamber indicator.

Shouldnt it always be loaded if its for self protection.
To answer your question-yes, the gun should be loaded (in this case the clip ) What Bill meant was there is a warning devise to let you know there is a round in the chamber and ready to fire at the pull of the trigger. |

Comments are common on other forums about the DOA trigger pull being so heavy that it really renders the sidearm nearly useless. One compared it to a "bumper jack attached to a 1947 buick" !  Hope it's not that bad.
Anyway if you could advise us on that it would be most helpful coming from an actual CFF member.

The DA on these pistols is pretty stiff, as is the recoil when firing the pistol. A standard hammer spring is 24 lbs. from the factory. Wolff springs sells reduced power hammer springs in 17,18,19 and 20 lb. to lighten the pull on DA.
The 18 lb. spring is 25% less stiff than the standard and should still be stiff enough to set off the primer. I don't recommend the 17 lb. as most 9x18 ammo is made in former east bloc countries and their primers are harder than
those produced in the US. The best defensive ammo for this pistol is Hornady Critical Defense.
Wolff also makes increased power recoil springs to reduce felt recoil when firing these smaller pistols as they are quite snappy with factory springs. Plinking ammo is relatively cheap at $10.00 a box.
As for CCW, the 9x18 is the very minimum I would consider using in a carry situation. A larger diameter bullet than a .380 or 9mm luger, .355 to .364 and only around 100 FPS less muzzle velocity than a 9x19. I own 6 pistols in this caliber and would trust any of them to protect me in most situations.

(98.249.97.119) | For those people that like the classic design of the Walther PP series, I give you the Hungarian PA63 pistol in 9x18. Originally in 7.65 mm, better known as .32 ACP. This was the standard sidearm of the Hungarian military/police for over 25 years.
Another of the finely crafted surplus pistols to come out of the former eastern bloc countries of the Warsaw pact. A 7 rnd. mag capacity makes this an excellent choice for a concealable CCW. As with the Polish P64, the recoil and DA trigger pull are quite stiff but can be reduced to a manageable level with a Wolff hammer and recoil spring upgrade.
The price is about the same as the Polish P64. Around $200.00 shipped to an 01 or 03 FFL.

A combination of places from gun broker to FTF sales locally. Some that come to mind, Aim surplus, SOG, Centerfire, Copes, Classic Arms, J&G sales, Wideners. All of those companies deal in foreign surplus firearms of one type or another.
I guess I missed the local one.

Did you by chance use the Oxpho Blue to redo the slide? I am needing to blue the slide on my Kel Tech due to 'pocket rust' and have heard that it is a simple process with this product. |

(98.249.97.119) | Yes, it was Oxpho blue cream. The cream applies better than the liquid. Just make sure the slide is completely de-greased or the blueing
won't bond with the metal. I use brake cleaner.
