For those of you who have been keeping up with "Fishing With A Soldier" It all happens this weekend, April 28th, at Ladd Landing in Kingston Tennessee on Watts Barr. There is still time to jump in and get involved ... we need volunteer boaters ... as well as Soldiers and Veterans. This event turned out great last year, and promises to be bigger and better this year. No cost to you except your time and gas getting there ... spend a day on the water fishing, and come back in at 3PM and after weigh-in ... get served a hot picnic styled lunch.
I'm headed to Kingston TN this evening to get things ready ... If you need information, please contact Gary at gary.harris@us.army.mil, or Steve at scvoland@eodt.com Look forward to seeing you at the boat ramp.

(68.185.140.39) | Event completed without a hitch, promoters did great job. Good group showed, thanks to Fuzzy & John Boyd from CFF for assisting as boaters. Will let Rich Ballard chime in with totals & etc. Junk fish was a 72lb bluecat , hope someone has pictures, big bass just over 4lbs. Tough day on the Barr.........

Location: Kingston (Thief Neck Island/ Watts Bar) (98.86.5.21) | Young wounded warrior I fished with only fished twice in his life. It was tough, I had two fish and he never caught one. He was a fine young man and an IED in Afghanistan has changed his plans a little. We had a good time, plan on helping him adjust to "civvy" life as he gets medically discharged in the next few weeks. What an honor to take him out! Thanks for those who organized it...

Location: Cleveland, TN (71.87.240.185) | Good afternoon Chattanooga Fishing Forum,
Fishing With A Soldier 2 is in the history books ... What a huge turn-out and success... and as promised, was Bigger & Better than last year ... will be very hard to beat this years event.
Everything we did and said about April 28, 2012 Fishing With A Soldier 2 ... was all about the men and women of our Armed Forces .. Soldiers & Veterans, old and new and gave us a chance to give a little something back and say "Thank You"! We even had an 89 year old Veteran from WW2 attend, and we recognized him for his service.
The "Thank You" list is endless ... and I almost hate to start trying, as I know I'm going to miss some folks, and for that I'm sorry, but if I miss you, please bring it to my attention so I can recognize you. CFF Staff and members supported us once again Thank You everyone. EODT out of Lenoir City were our heros once again and put so much into this event ... Thanks guys. Bunch Marine in Harriman, TN ... as always, Curtis, Robbie, and staff and friends did a great job. Doug Pressley from Heartland was there supporting us from sun-up to sun-down .. Thank You Doug. My partners in crime .. Gary Harris, Steve Voland, Tim Voland, Mark Jenkins, Bobby, Brad Cooper, Jerry Goodner, Donnie Gill, Deb McKay, Rob Nell .... and a special Thanks to Rick Ross of the Kingston Parks and Recreation Dept ... Thanks for everything. Also Thank You to the American Red Cross for the coffee and donuts first thing in the morning prior to launch ... and the Patriot Guard Riders as well as the Shiloh Riders for preparing our afternoon meal GREAT JOB !! There are so many people out there who donated time, money, gifts, and give-a-ways ... I will have to sort through our collective notes when my move is done next week.
If you attended ... once again we are asking for your feed back and comments, in order for us to learn and improve ... There WILL be a Fishing With A Soldier 3 in 2013. Please post your remarks and comments here, or e-mail to me at sfbigdog1@aol.com
Thank You so much everyone for making this years event OUTSTANDING !!!
